My yin-yang...

My yin-yang in their morning yoga pose...nope, they're not into the 'downward facing dog' until they've finished with this one!

Procrastinating in Pang...

In about one week I'll be in Qikiqtarjuaq; no more Pang dogs...my lord they're strange looking. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to get my husky before I leave. I've looked high and low but, after a big parvo outbreak killed off a lot of the unvaccinated population, most mushers (is that a word?) are only now building up their sled teams again. That means no simple pets. Boo.

Holy crap...Hell's Kitchen is absolutely bizarre. What is it about Chef Ramsay's that we find so entertaining? Is he supposed to be the Simon Cowell of the kitchen? Everyone can whine at their seemingly callous treatment of contestants but if you come out, you'd better come out to play. Oh, and what is it about a British accent that makes it ok?

And you always know the cocky one is going to be the first to leave.

Time for a new post over here; I still have a few more weeks on my northern blog!

Intro...

I had considered writing, throughout the summer, on one of my northern blogs, but after awhile I figured that wouldn't be the best idea. I've beem writing on Pang Bound throughout my stay in Pangnirtung, Nunavut; next year, however, I'll be logging in from Just Qik'in Around . How could I do a transition like that from Nova Scotia or Ottawa?

...and so, for the abovementioned reason, Canines and Coffeebeans was born...

I have a one year old chihuahua...all decked out in his holiday garb; isn't he cute? Gryphon. He will feature regularly.

My second full-time furry resident is Scarlett, a three year old chiweenie...that would be a chihuahua/weiner dog mix. She's gotten a bit surly in her old age, but she is able to charm anyone who spends more than twenty minutes with her. Another cutie...

The three of us have lived in the small hamlet of Pangnirtung, Nunavut for the past ten months. That's right, two dogs who definitely are better suited to the warmer climes of the south have been living on Baffin Island near the Arctic Circle. We've done ok. Though the supply of dog paraphernalia is ridiculously expensive up here, I packed it up before moving here and saved some change. Also, I've gotten into the habit of making treats and hunting down bones on the tundra...check out this caribou bone!

That's about it for today. Our doggy travel stories will begin sometime soon...
